Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 millions. Shortly thereafter she resigned from the company. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts as of February, 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was the second of 10 children born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple located in Edgewater, New Jersey. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover from one job to another throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father, who was a drunk at times too much, and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd consumed several drinks. Corcoran was a troubled student throughout school. Later, she discovered she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
