Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most well-known work is her leading role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was honored with an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The show ended on the 13th, 2012 following the conclusion of its seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick got an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline Wuntch in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's solos (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) was teacher and family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish roots and stated that she takes part in Passover seders.
